an original screenplay by Kimberly A. Suta. I will be preparing to shoot this short film script in the summer of 2010, and hope to develop it into a feature-length film. 11-23-09 Had an insightful & inspiring telephone conversation with Kimberly this afternoon. 11-24-09 Beginning research; downloaded information on homosexuality and the Muslim religion, and ordered books on Koran from the library. I want to be sensitive to the subject matter this script touches upon and not offend inadvertently due to my own ignorance.

Looking forward to addressing issues brought up in Christian’s entertaining script. 11-23-09 gave notes & suggestions regarding concept for film to Christian, and he is incorporating them into a re-write. A possible tag line, “Can love survive when your lover is a total bottom?” 12-01-09 Received revised script from Christian, looking forward to reading it tonight! 12-02-09 Really enjoyed script revision! THE SECRET TO LOVE

this was my first film. I wanted to address a current situation, the right to marry who you love, and came up with this idea of a man taking a chance on love, and the other man wanting to marry his next boyfriend. I chose the music to add to the situation, “They can’t take that away from me”, well, apparently they can! I wanted to end with the man & woman catching the flowers, because I wanted to show that “Love is Love”. Thanx for viewing my “baby”…

A BREEZE FROM THE GULF

I really love this play by Mart Crowley. I directed my very first scene at the Beverly Hills Playhouse from this play. When I was assigned my second film at film school, I chose another scene from this play, and challenged myself to see if I could tell the story without dialogue (my camera did not have a Sound attachment) and I chose the music that is mentioned in the play. These actors were great to work with, and despite the subject matter, we had a fantastic time!!

MANHATTAN

an adaptation of a scene from “Manhattan”. This was an assignment at film school in Directing class. Using a single shot, no camera movement. But, as to why I chose this scene, “Manhattan” is one of my favorite films, and I wanted to approach this particular scene with my personal take on the relationship. I was quite pleased with the outcome, and thought my actors superb!! We also presented this scene “live” in a Director’s workshop I took with Howard Deutch in the Spring of 2009.

HORROR IN LAVENDER

The outline for “Horror in Lavender” is being written…be afraid, be very afraid 09-06-09 met with screenwriter Ellie Schwartz. We watched “Curse of the Queerwolf” directed by Mark Pirro, as possible inspiration, well you never know. 09-13-09 watched “Cemetery Man” for more inspiration.

In pre-production on a script by Olivia Bohnhoff and co-produced by Barbara Gilbert & farm boi productions. The Cast includes Hunter Fite, Dan Willmott, Trudy Forbes, Rosalind Rubin, Christine Pipgrass, and Nick Edwards-May. Directed by Gary Lamoin. 09-12-09 first table read with cast. 11:30pm 09-12-09 amazed & inspired by my cast & crew! Excellent read-through & Fabulous ideas by my Cinematography team. Location secured. 09-14-09 Working under an LLC. Received budget from Consulting Producer. Producer submitting paperwork to SAG for actors. 09-20-09 Rehearsed with Hunter Fite (BARRY), worked on character, history & behavior choices. We are on Twitter, follow us. 09-26-09 Meeting with Producer, DP, and Lighting Person. 09-27-09 Rehearsal with Actors. 09-28-09 Title change from “The Dinner Date” to “Dinner Out”. Another film, also 2009, is on imdb, so we did not want confusion between the two films. And, the new title is actually much better! Reschedule shooting date for November 7th & 8th. 09-28-09 Cast Mario Montenegro in a featured-extra part at the beginning of film. 10-11-09 Cast Miriam Malabel in the featured role of “MAUDE” (formerly referred to as OLD WOMAN, but I felt uncomfortable constantly calling Miriam by that title) Ellie Schwartz has come on board as Make-up Supervisor. Cast Daniel Gonzalez in another featured-extra part at the beginning of film, as well as Make-up Assistant. Had fantastic rehearsal! DP & assistant worked out technical shots for utilizing location for multiple set-ups. 10-27-09 Received go-ahead from SAG short film agreement!! 11-01-09 Filmed opening scene. Jason Romaine was additional featured extra. Hunter, Mario & Jason were great. Ashlee, our DP, and Oz, his assistant, were fantastic. I believe we got a great opening shot for the beginning of our film! 11-07-09 Shot all interiors. Completely on schedule. And I excellent performances. 11-08-09 All day exteriors for “restaurant scenes”. Fighting loosing the sun, and we lost it sooner that I would have liked, but I have a film in the can!! My cast & crew absolutely gave me 100% of their talent, and I am so appreciative. Now on to post production. 11-22-09 Met with Marc Saltarelli to discuss editing. Viewed footage. Marc is creating a DVD of all footage, so that I can view and select shots/takes that I like & give editing notes/suggestions to shape film to my vision. 02-10-10 Marc Saltarelli is directing his own documentary, so he will not be available to edit, but I am so appreciative of all his Creative Support!! That being said, John Baumgartner, the director of “Hard Pill”, will be editing my film!! We meet Saturday night for our initial creative meeting. 02-15-10 Had first official meeting on Saturday night with John about editing film. Discussed my ideas & thoughts, and gave him some notes, he is going to make a rough “editor’s cut” & then we will get together and discuss again. I can hardly contain my excitement!! 02-18-10 Met with John last night. Viewed footage and gave notes & suggestions. John was very insightful regarding his comments. I believe, more than ever, that we are going to have a marvelous little film. He had edited the beginning moment & included part of the song, “Take a Walk in the Sunshine”, and added titles (a delight that he mocked-up the cast & included Marilyn Monroe) He knows what side my toast is buttered! Target date is Monday for our next meeting.
